God created a world filled with beauty and wonder that includes everything needed for God’s people to thrive with joy.  Sadly, the Earth we cherish is threatened by environmentally damaging pursuits.  The Creation Care Task Force seeks to educate and guide our church in adopting eco-friendly practices such as recycling, composting and maintaining an urban mini-meadow of native pollinator plants and trees on our property. Tidings’ newsletter articles, children’s messages, and guest speakers help to inspire and inform our congregation.  Church members are encouraged to join the task force in community involvement through activities such as Blacks Run Clean Up Day.  The Creation Care Task Force provides opportunities for our congregation to gather outdoors to enjoy God’s creation as we journey beyond the church walls for activities such as book discussions, nature walks, picnics, JMU planetarium programs, and worship in the park.
