College Chorale

We are blessed each year with the talents of our Music Scholarship Students from James Madison University. We are happy to have them join our choir and share their many talents with us.

Ammad Akbari

Ammad Akbari is a Senior Vocal Performance Major at James

Madison University.  From McLean, Virginia, Ammad actually attended school from elementary grades on with fellow College Chorale Member Camila!  A tenor, Ammad performs in operas at the JMU School of Music and is a member of the premier award-winning all-male a cappella group, The Madison Project.  This is Ammad's third year in Otterbein's College Chorale and he contributes greatly to the church's Music Ministry.

Leah Finn

Leah Finn is a Senior Vocal Performance and Music Theater Major from the Virginia Beach Area.  She is a member of JMU School of Music's advanced auditioned chamber ensemble, The Madison Singers.  Leah has performed in several opera productions at JMU.  Leah has a twin sister, Camryn, and enjoys reading, dancing, and watching movies (especially Disney movies).  This is Leah's third year participating in the Otterbein College Chorale Scholarship program and we are blessed to have her lead in worship.

Ricky Goodwyn, Jr.

Ricky Goodwyn, Jr. is a Junior Vocal Performance Major from Carrollton, Virginia.  He was awarded the Centennial Scholar Scholarship to attend JMU.  In the fall of 2018 Ricky performed a major role in the JMU Opera presentation of Dead Man Walking.  He was a featured soloist as the Archangel Uriel in JMU School of Music's presentation of Creation by Haydn.  A prior national finalist in the prestigious NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) vocal competition, Ricky was awarded third place nationally in his collegiate division in 2020.  Ricky has performed recitals and is in demand as a soloist throughout the state of Virginia.  This is Ricky's third year singing in the Otterbein College Chorale.  Ricky is extremely grateful for the support of the OUMC Congregation and he truly knows none of his talent and success would be possible without God.

Camila Maric

Camila Maric is a Senior Vocal Performance Major at JMU.  From McClean, Virginia, she is a member of the prestigious Madison Singers and enjoys participating in Opera Theatre.  Camila enjoys working for WXJM and singing in the Overtones, JMU's premier co-ed a cappella group.  This is Camila's second year in the Otterbein College Chorale and she has added an amazing versatility to the group.  In addition to her many musical talents, Camila likes taking care of her various plants and pickling vegetables.
